Sutter Home is the official winery of Live in the Vineyard, a twice-yearly exclusive event in Napa Valley, California, featuring music, wine, and food. As a title sponsor, the brand hosts an intimate set from a performer at their winery for sweepstakes winners and other invitees.
The selection of Melissa Etheridge as Sutter Home's guest for the Spring 2015 edition presented a wonderful opportunity to create content that would benefit artist, brand, and fans of both.
With the title of Melissa's new album, This Is M.E., syncing up nicely with the recently launched #MeTime with Sutter Home campaign, the Grammy- and Academy Award-winning rock icon graciously shared how she finds time to unwind and a few of her favorite songs (compiled into a YouTube playlist). Album promotion was integrated into a Sutter Home #MoscatoMonday post, and as part of the sweepstakes winners announcement, a free download of one of Melissa's new songs was offered to all.
Following Melissa's live performance in Napa, I conducted an on-camera interview with fan questions submitted via the Sutter Home blog and social channels. Similarly posted and promoted, the video Q&A extended Sutter Home's reach beyond current fans, garnering the brand valuable new exposure. A close-the-loop sweepstakes sought to further reward fans who'd engaged with Live in the Vineyard coverage with a prize of an autographed guitar.
